What Are Article Directories?
An article directory is a website like www.EzineArticles.com that allows authors and marketers
to post their articles for free on the website. Site owners and publishers (such as newsletter or
online magazine publishers) can visit these sites, find content appropriate for their site, and
publish it on their site, also free of charge.
The publisher is happy because she has free content she didn’t have to create or pay for.
The author is happy because he is able to include a Resource Box (explained later) at the end
of each article that links back to his own website. This earns him a valuable backlink, while also
giving him a space to promote and brand himself (or the item he’s promoting).
Why not approach these site publishers yourself?
Well you can do that, but it takes far more time. This way, you can gain hundreds of links
automatically just by submitting your site to a few article directories.
Working with article directories gives you more bang for your buck, so to speak. You post your
article once in a directory, and that one post can translate into a hundred links, i.e. 100 sites
publishing your article!
