ATI Technologies, Skelmir and Zentek Technology to showcase DVB MHP reference
solution at IBC
New Linux-based product for set-top box manufacturers and broadcasters enables interoperable MHP
applications for digital television
REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – Sept. 8, 2003 – Zentek Technology Group is teaming with ATI Technologies
(NASDAQ:ATYT) and Skelmir at the International Broadcasting Convention (IBC) to demonstrate how
their partnership minimizes development costs while delivering state-of-the-art set-top solutions for
digital television. The three companies will demonstrate the interoperability of Zentek’s
MediaStack-MHPTM, ATI’s Set-Top Wonder Xilleon and Skelmir’s CEE-J Virtual Machine throughout IBC,
which runs Sept. 12-16, 2003, in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
The demonstration reflects how Zentek’s multimedia home platform (MHP) product family uses Linux
and employs open standards to cut costs for set-top box manufacturers. The MediaStack-MHP design
enables the delivery of enhanced digital television applications and services via digital broadcast
streams in markets that comply with digital video broadcast (DVB) specifications.
Such markets are emerging rapidly in North America, Asia, Europe and Australia, and Zentek is helping
ensure that hardware is available to meet the growing demand.
“Zentek continues to develop integrated client reference solutions that reduce MHP development risk for
digital set-top box and television manufacturers,” said Shozo Ohtani, president and chief executive
officer, Zentek Technology Group. “Zentek is delighted to add ATI and Skelmir as Zentek MHP
development partners. We look forward to delivering production product to our mutual customers.”
"The ATI XILLEON solution for the digital television market is a highly integrated package that is low cost
yet powerful enough to drive the latest, most-demanding interactive environments,"
