11 YEARS IN A ROW!!
Elitha Donner Elementary Celebrates
“More Than a Decade of Academic Achievement”.
Eleven years ago, California began the Accountability Progress Reporting
System to measure and report the academic achievement of California’s
public school students. The system includes three major components:
The Academic Performance Index (API)
The Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP)
The Program Improvement (PI)
The California Department of Education prepares these reports on each
school, school district, and county office of education. The reports are
available on the APR web page at http://www.cde.ca.gov/apr.
The API report shows how much a school is improving from year to year
based on its API. A school’s API is calculated from the results for each
school’s students on statewide tests. The state has set 800 as the API
target for all schools to meet.
On August 31, 2004, Elitha Donner Elementary was selected to host a press
conference with the State Superintendent of Public Instruction, Jack
O’Connell announcing the statewide results of the Academic Performance
Index. Our school was selected as an outstanding example of quality, as our
API score continued to exceed the 800 target.
During the 1998-1999 school year, Elitha Donner Elementary scored 810 on
the API report. Each school year since, Elitha Donner Elementary continued
to score over 800.
