Education Checklist – Guard/Reserve
Fill out VA Form 22-1990, “Application for VA Education Benefits.” Many members of the National
Guard and Reserve have remaining benefits from their active duty GI Bill or may qualify for the
Reserve Education Assistance Program (REAP) and the New Post 9/11 GI Bill. Some find that they
are eligible to use their Selected Reserve GI Bill benefits after they separate from service. Verify
your eligibility by downloading the form from http://www.vba.va.gov/pubs/forms/VBA-22_1990.pdf .
Visit the Department of Veterans Affairs GI Bill website at http://www.gibill.va.gov/ to learn about the
latest developments and vital information concerning your education benefits. To talk with a VA
Benefits Counselor, call 1-888-442-4551.
