ARCHITECTS' AND ENGINEERS'
The entrance panel shall be Alpha Communications®/Tektone
AM649 Vandal-Resistant Series Speaker/Microphone Panel or ap-
proved equal, and shall provide for up to 16 push buttons per speaker
panel. The panel shall include a weather-resistant mylar speaker
mounted behind a louvered panel and perforated aluminum material
to protect the speaker from damage. The AM649 Panel shall also
include an electrostatic microphoneprotected by aluminum material
mounted behind the panel. Push buttons switches shall be individu-
ally replaceable type with self-wiping contacts. Push button actuator
shall be made of solid, extruded aluminum suitable for engraving. In
addition, the panel shall contain up to 16 individual name holders.
The name holders shall be made of BLACK flame retardant polycar-
bonate plastic with clear flame retardant polycarbonate plastic strips
to protect card inserts. Each name holder shall snap into two small
slots on the panel itself and shall be individually replaceable.
The AM649 shall have top and bottom decorative end caps that shall
also serve as mounting brackets to flush or surface mount Alpha
Communications® OH600 Series Back Boxes. The decorative end
caps shall be made of BLACK flame retardant polycarbonate plastic.
The AM649 shall also provide the necessary circuitry for two wire
intercom system operation when used with Alpha Communications®'s
TA292A Suite Phone and PK292 Amplifier.
Each AM649 Panel or approved equal shall be equipped with name
card sheets that may be easily separated into individual name strips.
