Campbell County High School (Jacks-
boro, Tennessee)
Campbell County High School (CCHS) is a
comprehensive secondary school located in
Jacksboro, Tennessee which was established
in 1975. As of 2008, the school principal is
Robbie Heatherly. Approximately 1,500 stu-
dents enroll at the high school annually,
greater than double the state average.

Perpetrator(s) Kenneth Bartley, Jr.
On November 8, 2005, 15-year old student
Kenneth Bartley Jr. had been confronted by
principal Gary Seale on whether he carried a
firearm on school campus. He allegedly
pulled the .22-caliber handgun under a nap-
kin and stated, "Yes, it’s real. I’ll show you. I
never liked you anyways," and proceeded to
open fire on assistant principal Ken Bruce
and Gary Seale and assistant principal Jim
Pierce, who were present in the room. [1] Ken
Bruce had died of sustained critical injur-
ies.[2]
On April 10, 2007, Kenneth Bartley Jr.
plead guilty to a single count of second-de-
gree murder and two counts of attempted
second-degree murder, and was sentenced to
45 years in prison. [3]
