Getting a Domain (Website Address)
We understand that a lot of church plants and new ministries haven’t even thought through the need of actu-
ally purchasing a website address. This process is very easy to do, and is an essential part of your branding as
a ministry.
Tips for choosing a website address:

many ministries and businesses make mistakes while choosing their domain name. Here are some tips when
choosing your website address:
1. Make sure it’s as short as possible:
A lot of ministries want to put their whole name in their address such as www.theemergingchurchof-

church.com. Although it might seem like a clever solution at the time, don’t do it. First of all, most people
will type your address in without a hyphen the rst time. This is not ideal on any sort of marketing level. Sec-
ondly, whenever you tell someone your web address or email address, you’ll have to say “www dot cornerstone
hyphen church”. If you can avoid it, try not to use a hyphen.
3. Choose a name people can spell:
With the latest fad of naming churches Greek or Latin words comes obvious spelling issues when people are
trying to nd your church online. For example, one of our sites is called “Pshuche”, which means soul in
Greek. It’s actually p
