Kansas State University
Kansas State University encourages you to
test out of courses in which you already have
academic knowledge comparable to that
gained in collegiate study.
Three national credit by examination op-
portunities are available: the College Level
Examination Program (CLEP), the Defense
Activity for Non-Traditional Education
Support (DANTES), and the Excelsior College
Exams. CLEP and DANTES tests can be
scheduled through the Academic Assistance
Center, 101 Holton Hall, 785-532-6492. The
following registration fees are paid at the
time of the examination: CLEP, $97 per test;
DANTES, $105 per test.
Credit is awarded to students who are
admitted and/or currently enrolled. If the
letter grade is awarded, it will become part
of your K-State GPA. This credit is considered
resident credit and may be treated as prereq-
uisites for subsequent courses. Non-graded
credit by exam will not be counted against
credit/no credit limits.
You must complete a minimum number of
university general education (UGE) credit
hours at K-State. Credit-by-exam hours may
be considered ‘‘transfer credits’’ for purposes
of the UGE policy. Consult your advisor.
