WASHINGTON--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--Promontory Financial Group (PFG), the premier consulting
firm for financial services companies worldwide, has named Chester B. Feldberg a Senior Advisor and a director of
its Global Advisory Board.
A 36-year veteran of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, Mr. Feldberg has a record of exemplary leadership
in both the public and private sectors. He served as Chairman of Barclays America from 2000 to 2008. The New
York Fed appointed him in January 2009 as one of three trustees in the AIG Credit Trust Facility.
“Chet Feldberg is a wise and trusted figure throughout finance, as I learned clearly when I had the honor to work
alongside him on the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision,” said Eugene A. Ludwig, Promontory’s Chairman
and CEO. “Chet’s well honed instincts will be immensely valuable in guiding Promontory’s strategy of helping
financial companies manage risk, grapple with regulation, meet or exceed supervisory expectations, and position
themselves for the future,” Mr. Ludwig added.
"I am delighted to have the opportunity to be reunited with Gene Ludwig and the other members of the Promontory
team, many of whom served on the Basel Committee,” Mr. Feldberg said. “I very much look forward to
participating in Promontory's ongoing efforts to assist banks in meeting today's critical legal and regulatory challenges
and in the process to help strengthen the global banking system."
Until his retirement from the New York Fed in 2000, Mr. Feldberg held the pivotal post of executive vice president
in charge of the Bank Supervision Group. He oversaw a supervision force of 600, including 400 examiners, and
