3. HAZARDS IDENTIFICATION
Emergency Overview:
White, odorless, powder. Causes eye irritation, slight skin
irritation, and digestive tract irritation. Dust causes
respiratory tract irritation. Due to high pH of product, release
into surface water is harmful to aquatic life. Noncombustible.
Reacts with acids and some organics.
Eye contact:
Causes irritation to the eyes.
Skin contact:
Causes slight irritation to the skin.
Inhalation:
Dust irritating to respiratory tract.
Ingestion:
May cause irritation to mouth, esophagus, and stomach.
Chronic hazards:
No known chronic hazards. Not listed by NTP, IARC or OSHA
as a carcinogen.
Physical hazards:
Can etch glass if not promptly removed.
4. FIRST AID MEASURES
Eye:
In case of contact, immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for at least
15 minutes. Get medical attention.
Skin:
In case of contact, immediately flush skin with plenty of water. Remove
contaminated clothing and shoes. Get medical attention.
Inhalation:
Remove to fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. If
breathing is difficult, give oxygen. Get medical attention.
