A move to change the image of op shopping is underway in Auckland. A festival
to celebrate op shop culture as fashionable and funky has opened this weekend in
Glen Innes and Panmure and will run for 10 days. Events include workshops,
fashion parades and an art exhibition.

2. Nearly 40 Auckland beaches overwhelmed by faecal contamination, deemed
unsafe for swimming
Almost 40 Auckland beaches are contaminated with faecal matters and deemed
unsafe for swimming, after heavy rain hit the area on Saturday. SafeSwim website
has released warnings for 37 beaches which pose a high risk of illness from
swimming. The “high risk of illness” alert is triggered when there’s a greater than
2 percent chance of getting sick from swimming at a beach.
3. Two bakeries, phone repair shop in locations of interest for Covid-positive
Auckland border worker
Two bakeries, a dairy and a phone repair store have been listed as locations of
interest in Auckland after a worker visited the store before testing positive for
Covid-19 last week. The recent case which was announced on Thursday last week,
is a 24-year-old security guard at the Grand Millennium MIQ facility who had not
been vaccinated. Meanwhile, 13 of the 15 close contacts of the border worker
