ministration. He highlighted
the upcoming community work-
shops that will be provided with
the assistance of Mrs. Blizer
and stressed the importance of
an active membership. In clos-
ing he made an appeal to all
gathered to show solidarity
with the victims of the Katrina
Hurricane, by voluntarily donat-
ing whatever they desired.
The ceremony ended with food
and socializing in the fellowship
hall of St. Alban’s Episcopal
Church.
Later that evening an inaugural
ball commenced at the Holy
Angel chapel on Martin Luther
and 28th Street . Speaking at
the inaugural ball, Secretary
elect Mr. J. Tony Kenneh
thanked the Liberian commu-
nity for the responsibility and
opportunity en-
trusted in the executive board.

T he Liberian Association of
Indiana is pleased to re-
port the installation of its
new executive board members.
The ceremony, conducted on
September 24th 2005 at St.
Alban’s Episcopal Church 4601
North Emerson Avenue, was
well attended by the Liberian
community.
Dr. Gilbert Taylor and Mrs. Ca-
terina Cregor Blizer were on
hand to conduct the installation
of the new executive board.
Special guest speaker Dr Ro-
land Drew Smith delivered an
insightful speech. He re-
counted his travels throughout
Liberia and the special times he
shared with those he encoun-
tered. His main focus however,
stressed perseverance. Dr.
Smith utilized the experiences
of Nelson Mandela and the ANC
of South Africa to stress his
point. During their illegal in-
carceration by the Apartheid
regime, they stayed hopeful.
They continued to organize and
plan for a better day while im-
prisoned. Although it appeared
that day would never come, it
eventually did—and they were
ready to step up and assume
responsibility for their own des-
tiny. This he explained was an
imperative for Liberians.
Although the death toll has
impacted us
tremendously,
although our infras
