IT’S ALL SMILES AT WARREN VILLAGE THANKS TO CODY DENTAL GROUP
There were wall-to-wall smiles when the Cody Dental Group sponsored “family night” at Warren
Village. More than 60 single parents and children, all residents at the Denver nonprofit organization that
provides housing and support to families in transition, attended the community program, where a visit
from the Tooth Fairy was one of many highlights.
In honor of their 60th anniversary this year, Cody Dental Group is donating $60,000 in free dental
services to the residents of Warren Village. Some of them had not seen a dentist in years. Corrine, a 27-
year-old single mother, moved to Denver from Alabama to escape an abusive relationship. After 14
years between dental visits, she was in constant pain. Now, after getting treatment for 17 cavities and
three root canals, she’s quit smoking, is eating better, and is feeling healthier all around.
“I’m the only person I know who looks forward to going to the dentist,” she laughed.
As pediatric dentist Dr. Nancy Simons said about Cody’s relationship with Warren Village, “It’s the
smiles that make it special. We decided that giving healthy smiles to families that are in real need was
the best way we could honor our 60th anniversary.”
At Family Night, the children were treated to the Tooth Fairy’s visit and a goodie bag with pads, crayons
and, of course, new toothbrushes. The families received information on good dental health along with
dinner and entertainment proved by the Cody Dental staff.
According to the United States Surgeon General, tooth decay is the most common chronic childhood
disease, affecting 50 percent of 1st graders and 80 percent of 17-year olds. Left untreated, these problems
can cause gum disease and other health problems later in life. The good news is that these problems can
be dramatically reduced thro
