Order your fishing licence books now
A reminder to all licence agents: don’t forget to order your licence books now for the Christmas
holiday period. You can do so by calling NSW Fisheries on 9527 8589.
Fresh new Fishing Guides for 2003-2004 out now!
Back by popular demand, updated recreational fishing guides have been produced for the 2003-
04 fishing season and are now available to anglers, free of charge. These great booklets are
funded through your licence fees.
Fish Stocking Fisheries Management Strategy released
NSW Fisheries is seeking the community’s views on the draft management strategy for the
future of freshwater fishing stocking in NSW. The draft strategy outlines the vision for a
productive and sustainable fish stocking program in the future, and covers issues such as fish
hatchery standards, scientific research, socio-economic factors, threatened species and the
genetics of natural populations. You can view the draft strategy and environmental impact
statement at www.fisheries.nsw.gov.au. Submissions must be made by 19 December 2003 and
marked Environmental Impact Statement Submission, Fish Stocking. Send your submission to:

Management of NSW recreational fishing: we need you!
NSW Fisheries will soon be seeking the community’s views on the future management of
recreational fishing in NSW. We encourage all licence agents to get involved by giving us your
feedback, and helping to distribute flyers introducing this process to your customers. Keep an
eye out for a bundle of these brochures in the mail before Christmas. This initiative is co-funded
by the recreational fishing trusts and NSW Fisheries.
