Our Commitment to
Women’s Health
As Women of the ELCA, we are prepared to
lead boldly—first the church and then
beyond—in promoting women’s complete and
total health: physical, spiritual, and emotional.
So we may foster this new initiative, our
grants program will focus funding over the
next triennium toward projects and agencies
dedicated to education, healthcare, and advo-
cacy, emboldening women and girls to lead
healthier lives.
Women of the ELCA
Purpose Statement
As a community of women
created in the image of God,
called to discipleship in Jesus Christ,
and empowered by the Holy Spirit,
we commit ourselves to
grow in faith,
affirm our gifts,
support one another in our callings,
engage in ministry and action, and
promote healing and wholeness
in the church,
the society, and
the world.
