Wins IFT Presidential Election

LA MIRADA, Calif.--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--He is known by many titles, and now, you can add
“president-elect” to the list.
The E.T. Horn Company is very proud to announce that our own Roger Clemens, Dr.PH, and longtime company
consulting scientific advisor has been elected president–elect of the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT). The IFT is
an international non-profit scientific society for food science and food technology professionals. There are currently
18,000 members worldwide, about 85% of which reside in the US.
Clemens has played an active role in Washington, DC, voicing his concerns to the White House and Congress about
food safety, consumer health and wellness, and global hunger.
“As IFT President-elect, I am committed to energetically, enthusiastically, and effectively represent IFT’s critical role
in delivering safe and healthful foods to consumers throughout the world,” Clemens said.
In addition to his successful career as a scientific advisor for E.T. Horn, Dr. Clemens is a member of the USDA
2010 Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee, where he focuses on food safety and dietary lipids and health. He is
also a public member of the American Dietetic Association’s Commission on Dietetic Registration, chair of the public
information committee within the American Society for Nutrition, and a leader in many other food, nutrition and
