Beginning in 1953 as a small outfi t providing costumed Santa Claus performers to Baltimore area

Born at the advent of the modern American shopping center, Becker Group’s Yuletide service
evolved accordingly to eventually provide Christmas trees, elaborate sets and more, to lead the
burgeoning market of holiday décor, and effectively defi ne the business of Christmas. From Mr.
Becker’s earliest innovations, like that of the “Santa School,” where applicants received lessons
on portraying Saint Nick, creative invention has fueled the company’s growth, helping it become
exclusive provider of décor to the top names in retail and property development including
Taubman Co., Westfi eld Group, Macerich, Simon Properties, General Growth Properties
and many others.
As the company’s work grew more sophisticated, it became a major destination attraction for
its clients, and thus, an effective traffi c builder. Becker Group seized on this evolution, helping
its client centers build their brands by providing experiences beyond the holiday season,
