AHEC EVPA JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Title: Executive Vice President for Administration (EVPA)
Division/Department: Office of the Executive Vice President for Administration
1.
Job Summary: The EVPA is the chief executive officer for operations on the Auraria
campus located in Denver, Colorado. The EVPA is responsible for administering the mission of
the Auraria Higher Education Center (AHEC) to provide for the land, physical plant and
facilities necessary to accommodate and house AHEC's constituent institutions of higher
education—the Metropolitan State College of Denver (Metro State), the University of Colorado
Denver (UC Denver), and the Community College of Denver (CCD)—under the direction and
supervision of the Board of Directors of the Auraria Higher Education Center (the Auraria

Essential Job Functions: Among other functions, the EVPA shall:
•
Provide leadership and direction for the support and service functions of a
complex college and university campus.
•
In partnership with the CCD, Metro State and UC Denver, develop effective
relationships with State Legislature, Colorado Commission on Higher Education,
City and County of Denver, surrounding neighborhoods, and/or other related
entities. Manage relationships and develop opportunities with downtown Denver,
which support the overall goals of the campus and its constituent institutions.

Administer AHEC functions, including, but not limited to, the purchase and sale
and lease of real estate, physical plant maintenance and capital construction,
student and auxiliary enterprise services, campus police and security, parking
services, special event & classroom services, financial management,
administrative support, legislative and community relations, and development and
execution of a comprehensive master plan that is consistent with the needs and
visions of the constituent institutions.

Advise and inform the Auraria
