Carpathia Hosting Expands Footprint with New Toronto Datacen
Now Managing Over 18.5 PB of Storage; Pushing over 350 Gbit/s of Content
05.14.2009 – Ashburn, VA – Carpathia Hosting announced today the addition of
international datacenter space in Toronto, Ontario. With the opening of the Toronto
datacenter, Carpathia Hosting now manages over 18.5 petabytes of storage and
pushes over 350 Gigabits per second of content; further solidifying Carpathia’s
position as a leader in the management of federal and enterprise infrastructure with
massive storage and bandwidth requirements.
“To meet customer demands for datacenter space and services outside the United
States, we selected Toronto as our first international datacenter location,” said Peter
Weber, CEO of Carpathia Hosting. “This expands our datacenter footprint to nine
Tier 3 facilities worldwide, allowing us to provide geographic diversity and
redundancy to our global customer base.”
In just 45 days since provisioning the Toronto datacenter, Carpathia Hosting is
already hosting and managing hundreds of servers, over 5 petabytes of storage and
over 80 Gigabits of bandwidth. The Toronto datacenter is designed to deliver
enterprise managed hosting services including dedicated servers, virtual servers,
network, storage, backup and system monitoring. The rapid growth in the Toronto
datacenter follows similar growth in Carpathia Hosting’s Phoenix, Ariz. and Ashburn,
Va. datacenters; primarily driven by management of large infrastructure with
substantial amounts of storage and bandwidth.
“Using cloud computing principals, we have developed solutions to manage
immense amounts of storage in the most reliable and cost-effective manner
possible,” said Jon Greaves, CTO of Carpathia Hosting. “Customers with significant
storage requirements that demand scale and resiliency should take a closer look at
our unique approach.”
