TYPES OF
EGR SENSORS
DPFE – Differential Pressure Feedback EGR Sensor –
This sensor is a connected to two orifices located below
the EGR valve. The DPFE is a computer input sensor
that relays EGR flow data to the ECM by measuring the
pressure difference across a fixed restriction in the EGR
passage. This enables the computer to monitor EGR flow.
PFE – Pressure Feedback EGR Sensor –
This sensor is connected to a single orifice located
below the EGR valve. The PFE is a computer
input sensor that is designed to relay information to
the computer about exhaust pressure within the EGR
passage, which enables the ECM to monitor EGR flow.
EVP – EGR Valve Position Sensor –
This sensor is mounted directly on top of the EGR
valve. The EVP is a computer input sensor that relays
information about EGR valve position back to the
computer. This
