What is NCRx?
If you qualify, NCRx will pay up to $29 per month toward the monthly premium of a
Medicare Prescription Drug Plan participating in the NCRx program. You will be
responsible for the rest of the monthly premium. Any plan that agrees to accept
payment from NCRx may participate in the program. A list of participating plans is
available at www.ncrx.gov or by calling 1-888-488-NCRX (6279).
When can I enroll for NCRx?
You can enroll at anytime after your 65th birthday as long as you meet all other eligibility criteria.
Do I have to be enrolled in a Medicare Prescription Drug Plan
that participates with NCRx in order to apply for NCRx benefits?
You can apply for NCRx even if you have not selected a participating plan. If you qualify, you will need
to choose a participating plan before you receive the monthly premium assistance.
Are the benefits of all of the participating Medicare Prescription Drug
Plans the same?
Plans vary in the amount of out-of-pocket costs that you may incur. Plans have different deductibles and
co-pays. They also differ in the drugs they cover and the pharmacies that participate. If you need help
in choosing a drug plan, call 1-888-488-NCRX (6279).
How do I apply for NCRx premium assistance?
You may print an application from the program website at www.ncrx.gov and mail the application to:
NCRx, P.O. Box 10068, Raleigh, NC 27605-5068. Each person must fill out a separate application.
