Blogger and "Human Search Engine" Roland Soong to speak at China Bloggerc
11.11.2008 – Few bloggers command the respect of a Roland Soong and his
untiring aggregation and interpretation of information about China. His blog
EastSouthNorthWest is in a class by itself among citizen journalists.
The man known as a Human Search Engine for his daily links about everything from
cultural humor to censorship has won him nicknames like uber blogger, and hatchet
man will speak at the largest gathering of bloggers annually in China.
Joining Roland on day two will be former Electronic Frontier Foundation attorney who
will "decompress some of the fundamental top to bottom questions of what the
internet and being on it is all about..."
This will be the 4th year for the event HKU professor of Journalism Rebecca
Mackinnon calls: "...an exciting community of independent online writers, digital
artists, media techies, entrepreneurs, educators, intellectuals, etc."
