CLASSIFICATION SUMMARY
Under general direction develops plans and administers strategies for community, sporting, and special events
within City parks and other City facilities. Solicits and promotes City facilities to local, regional and national
groups, associations and networks for the purpose of acquisition of new events that will contribute to increased
tourism. In addition to the actual planning and scheduling, the work involves dealing effectively and professionally
with the public in reviewing special use permits; determining compatibility of events with facilities; and meeting
with users and groups to explain fees, insurance, performance requirements, laws, ordinances and other regulations.
Acts as City liaison to various community event committees to assist, guide and offer expertise in the planning
process of hosting community and special events utilizing City property. In some instances, plans and supervises
city and city co-supported programs and events. Promotes and publicizes activities and events. This is a single
position classification. It is not part of a series.

effective service possible. Salaries are paid by the taxes, revenues, and users fees collected from the citizens of
