Advice for NEIS Participant
NEIS Rental Assistance is a fixed rate payment to eligible
participants for a period up to a maximum of 26 weeks from
the date they first start receiving NEIS Allowance. It is paid to
NEIS Participants who:
are eligible for and receiving Centrelink or Department
of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) Rent Assistance under their
current Allowance/Pension at the day they first start
receiving NEIS Allowance; and
are not currently receiving or eligible for Rent Assistance
as part of a Family Allowance payment.
on commencement of payment of NEIS Rental Assistance
all Centrelink or DVA rent payments should cease.
To claim for NEIS Rental Assistance you should take this
form to your local Centrelink or DVA office for completion
and return it to your NEIS Provider before you sign your
NEIS Participant Agreement.
