Co-Curricular Job Descriptions
Proposed changes to these Co-Curricular Job Descriptions will be submitted in writing with
mutual agreement between the district and the association prior to changes being made.

West Valley School District
Strings – Secondary
It shall be the responsibility of the Secondary Strings Director to instruct and supervise all Strings
students in 3 concerts; 3 festivals; 4 school performances, including graduation; and District performances;
organize fund raising; inventory, maintain, and order instruments and music.
The director is responsible for teaching at least 1 class period.
Elementary Music Specialist
It shall be the responsibility of the Elementary Music Specialist to instruct and supervise the Elementary
Music students in 4 concerts and 1 District performance.
The Music Specialist is responsible for teaching at least 1 class period.
West Valley High School
Cheerleader Advisor
It shall be the responsibility of the Cheerleader Advisor to organize and supervise the cheerleading
program at West Valley High School. This includes organizing cheerleader tryouts and selection process; plan,
organize and attend summer camp; maintain and buy needed equipment and uniforms; organize fund raising;
keep communication line open between parents and school staff; facilitate organization of pep assemblies;
arrange transportation and supervise at all sport events when they are officially cheering; arrange transportation
and supervise any post season events; plan, organize, implement, and supervise cheer clinics and intramurals,
organize and supervise 2 parade events; and supervise the Assistant Cheerleader Advisor if an assistant has been
appointed.
The advisor may be responsible for one class period a day.
Dance/Drill Team Advisor
It shall be the responsibility of the Dance/Drill Advisor to train and supervise the dance team. This
includes org
