Orange Beach Mardi Gras

Orange Beach Mardi Gras – 2010 is just around the corner. Mardi Gras parades have
become a tradition thanks to several hundred staff, volunteers, and members of
organizations all working together. We are pleased to report that we have had no major
problems or issues in Orange Beach during the events and will strive to maintain safety
as our number one goal while maintaining a family atmosphere. This is only possible
with everyone working together to make the parades and other festivities as safe as
possible and by working with our city staff and public safety personnel and cooperating
on the many issues at hand.
We appreciate each organization in making the efforts to not only produce each
individual night time parade but to each who participated in the City’s Fat Tuesday
parade. As you have seen, Orange Beach Mardi Gras has grown into a major activity
attracting an estimated 30,000 people on Fat Tuesday. Our traffic control plan has
worked very well and we hope you continue to support and work with our parade
committee, police and fire departments during these types of activities.
2010 entry fees will be maintained at $50 per single entry and $25 for each additional
entry. Limited funding and a lean budget prohibits us from inviting the marching bands
from recent years. The parade will be a great success with your participation and
support.
