Video Distributor Unit
The Alpha Communications®/S.T.R.™ VDU-4 video
distributor unit is used only with the VMH24, VMH25
and VH30 series coaxial type video-intercom systems.
The VDU-4 is used when the video signal from the
lobby entry camera(s) must be split (distributed) to
several coaxial cables.
The VDU-4 gets its power from the system camera DC
power supply. All VDU-4 connections are positive
screw terminal and coax clamp connector type.
Each VDU-4 has four (4) video outputs. When mul-
tiple VDU-4's are used, for systems requiring more
than four (4) outputs, multiple VDU-4 units may be
"daisy-chained" to provide outputs in multiples of four

The video distributor unit(s) shall be Alpha Com-
munications®/S.T.R.™ model VDU-4, or ap-
proved equal, and shall provide up to four (4)
amplified video outputs for the video-intercom
system. The VDU-4 shall be built into a rugged high
impact ABS plastic case, and shall be powered by
the camera's DC power supply.
Low voltage wiring shall be used and positive
screw terminal and coax clamp video connectors
shall be provided for installation wiring. The VDU-
4 shall be mountable right to the surface of the wall
or in a customer-supplied junction box cabinet.
