New Website Launched with More Features; Clear Enrollment Kits Now Available in Stores
NEW YORK, NY – Clear®, the leader in airport security fast lanes, today announced that the
number of trips through the nationwide Clear Lanes since the service began is expected to hit
two million over the next week. Clear had announced that it reached one million uses just six
months ago. And, this past week, Clear processed over 10,000 fliers in a single day – the
largest single usage since the service began in July 2005.
This month, the Clear card was named by the gadget editors of Wired magazine as a “must-
have” item and an “ultimate gift,” and the card will be featured in the magazine’s holiday retail
store on West 18th Street in Manhattan. Shoppers can purchase Clear’s new enrollment kit
there and in other retail shops from coast to coast including multiple locations of Flight 001
travel stores; Going in Style and Edward’s Luggage in the San Francisco Bay-area; Atlanta’s
Mori Luggage and Luggage and Leather Depot; Indiana’s The Briar and Burley; and
Manhattan’s Clyde’s Chemists, a luxury merchandiser on fashionable Madison Avenue. Clear
gift cards are also available online at flyclear.com.
Clear’s CEO Steven Brill said, “Clear has seen significant growth every month in the number of
members at the Clear lanes, and we expect to see enrollment continue to grow at a steady
pace. We’re hearing from more major travel service providers every day who are seeking
partnerships with Clear, and more airports are gearing up for fast pass lanes in 2009. This year
alone, Clear opened 15 lanes in 9 airports and signed co-marketing partnership deals with Delta
Air Lines and Marriott Hotels, among others. Next year, Los Angeles, Fort Lauderdale and
Baltimore-Washington International Airports, and more, are expected to launch fast lane
programs.”
Clear, which has more than 230,000 enrollees, recently launched a newly-designed website
