Conversify co-founder to speak at Blogalicious, Blogworld
Aliza Sherman covers social media topics at blog conferences
09.29.2009 – This October, Web pioneer Aliza Sherman will appear at several blog
conferences speaking about social media. On Oct. 10 in Atlanta at Blogalicious,
Sherman shares the panel duties for an entry level workshop titled "Social Media
101" speaking to an audience of women bloggers of color. On Oct. 15 in Las Vegas
at Blogworld Expo, Sherman will address business owners and marketers with a
presentation titled "Stimulating the Conversation with Women Through Social
Media." Both presentations will be made available online after the events on
Sherman's Slideshare.net page.
Sherman, best known for founding the first woman-owned full-service Internet
company in Silicon Alley - Cybergrrl, Inc. - and the first women's Internet organization
- Webgrrls International - was recently named by Fast Company magazine as one of
the "Most Influential Women in Technology." She was similarly honored by
Newsweek magazine in 1995 as one of the "Top 50 People Who Mattered Most on
the Internet." Her online work helped to directly pave the way for tens of thousands of
women to get online and benefit from the Internet. She also received Avon's Spirit of
Enterprise award for her work empowering women online.
Her recent books include "The Everything Blogging Book" and "Streetwise
Ecommerce," both published by Adams Media. She is a principal in the social media
marketing firm Conversify, blogs for Web Worker Daily and WorkItMom, and
podcasts as the Digital Marketer for the Quick and Dirty Network.
