Capital One Names Veteran Equity Research
Analyst Pierre Conner Head of Sales, Trading and
Research at Capital One Southcoast, Inc.

NEW ORLEANS--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--Capital One Financial Corporation (NYSE:COF) today
announced that Pierre Conner has been named Head of Sales, Trading and Research at Capital One Southcoast,
Inc., a wholly owned non-bank subsidiary of Capital One Financial Corporation. In this position, he will report to
Mark Smith, Head of Capital Markets and Government Banking.
Conner, who served as Capital One Southcoast’s Lead Equity Research Analyst since 2003, will now oversee all
aspects of the sales, research and trading functions, to deliver superior service to the investment community. Jim
McBride will continue in his role as head of Energy Banking at Capital One Bank and Head of Investment Banking
for Capital One Southcoast. He and Conner will work closely to ensure excellence in delivery of products and
service to clients.
“Pierre has played a significant role in establishing and implementing Capital One Southcoast's strategy. With 18
years of experience in the energy industry and 10 years of experience as an equity research analyst, he has earned
the respect of the energy industry and money managers, and has provided value to our customers and our company
over the years,” said Smith. “As a former manager with an international oil company, Pierre has extensive knowledge
and a broad range of hands-on experience that is well-suited for his newest role with Capital One Southcoast.”
Over the past year, Capital One Southcoast has expanded its research coverage and become a top 10 underwriter
of U.S. energy debt and equity transactions. Also in 2009, Capital One Southcoast recorded the most capital
market executions in its history and had its most profitable year.
