(PRWEB) December 9, 2009 -- American Residential Law Group, the Ft. Lauderdale-based law firm reports that
it has seen record increases in home loan modifications in the final quarter 2009, October through December.
American Residential Law Group is a law firm that advocates for Americans facing bankruptcy, foreclosure, and
home mortgage loan modifications.
"Mortgage modifications are set up to help homeowners that are facing foreclosure," says Joel Jacobi, founder
and lead attorney for ARLG. "Foreclosure is very costly to both the bank and the homeowner. No one wins. We
work to delay foreclosure, to renegotiate the mortgage with the bank, so that a homeowner can stay in his or her
home and so that a bank doesn't have the burden of yet another foreclosed home."
Jacobi's law firm takes a unique approach to these loan modifications. "Most loan modifyers were former
mortgage brokers," he said. "We are attorneys with 12 years experience protecting homeowners and were never in
the business of selling mortgages. Homeowners trust us for that very reason."
American Residential Law Group processed more mortgage loan modifications in the fourth quarter of last year
than any other quarter thus far. Yet despite their record increase in home loan modifications designed to prevent
foreclosures, foreclosures in the U.S. still hit an all-time high in 2009.
"This indicates to me that there are many homeowners who aren't aware that there may be loan modifications
available to assist them," Jacobi said.
To accomodate the increase in home loan modification demand, American Residential Law Group has expanded
into larger offices in Fort Lauderdale and has hired additional attorneys to handle the increase in loan
