Who should follow the programme?
The programme is aimed at ambitious individuals with a good degree or
equivalent in a relevant discipline who are looking to progress, or who have
already progressed, to a managerial role.
Purpose of the programme
The programme aims to provide Graduates with strong management and
leadership skills, as well as the knowledge needed to radically improve the
performance of their departments and organisations. It seeks to blend existing
technical skills with strategic, conceptual and people management skills, and
to develop Engineering Managers with strong implementation capabilities.
Essential Training to Develop Skills
The Post Graduate Certificate in Engineering Management offered by the
ECITB in partnership with EMP is a modular programme that can be completed
via distance learning or through tutorial attendance. EMP is a consortium of
the Universities of Bath, Bristol, Bradford and Loughborough.
