DALLAS (July 16, 2008) - Given annually for 16 years, Dallas Contemporary Legends 2008
Awards recognize individuals who have demonstrated extraordinary talent, generosity, and
commitment to the visual arts in Texas. Recipients are nominated for their contributions as artist, arts
professional, and arts patrons. Joseph Havel, noted artist, teacher and administrator, joins fellow
honorees Quin Mathews, local arts professional, and Dallas arts patrons Allen and Kelli Questrom
as they are honored at the Dallas Contemporary galleries east of downtown Dallas on September 4,
2008. Over 300 art lovers, philanthropists, and corporate leaders will gather to recognize the honorees.
The Legends event raises $100,000 for exhibitions and educational programs that benefit 28,000 adults,
which includes over 5,000 underserved students.
“We are proud to honor these important legends in our art community,” says Honorary Board member
and past honoree Nancy Hanley.
Dallas Contemporary will feature the graceful sculptures and fabric conceptions of Legends Awards
