DNS Made Easy Provides Free IPv6 Tools for Network Administrators
DNS Made Easy provides free IPv6 tools for network administrators making the validation of
IPv6 records an easy process.
(Vocus) October 16, 2009 -- DNS Made Easy (dnsmadeeasy.com), the leading IP Anycast managed DNS service
provider, announces the release of free tool to help system and network administrators with IPv6
implementations. This new tool is available for no cost at IPv6Verify.com.
The IPv6Verify.com tool allows network and DNS administrators to check the validity of an IPv6 address and to
compare two IPv6 addresses to determine if they are the same. IPv6Verify.com also presents the fully expanded
notation for an IPv6 address and provides the full reverse DNS PTR record for an IPv6 address.
“IPv6 adds new complexity to many DNS administrator’s jobs," states Bryan Hughes, Vice President of System
Operations at Tiggee. “The task of IPv6 implementation, testing and migration has many DNS administrators
over-tasked and merely verifying IPv6 address syntax can be troublesome. There are several different variations
in which the same IPv6 address can be written. IPv6 verify allows users to verify an IPv6 address and also
compare if two IPv6 addresses are the same. Even DNS administrators with solid IPv6 addressing experience can
have issues with reverse DNS for IPv6 and to help them we provide a simple method of determining the reverse
DNS PTR for IPv6 addresses.”
DNS Made Easy states that one of the most common questions asked by new users is how to verify if their IPv6
address is correct when entering AAAA records.
DNS Made Easy was one of the first DNS providers in the world to allow the addition of AAAA records in their
DNS system. To help reduce the amount of support and complexity for users, DNS Made Easy initially had all
users provide IPv6 records by support ticket so that the DNS Made Easy support staff could verify the IPv6
format and validity of the records for customers before they were added to their DNS. B
