Exercise 1: Bending Device
Problem:-
Sheet metals are to be
formed using a single
acting cylinder. The start
signal is to be given by a
push button
Method:-
a. Direct actuation
b. Indirect actuation
Exercise 2: Separating Product from a Magazine
Problem:-
•
The piston is to extend when
a pushbutton is pressed and
return immediately to its
start position when
the
pushbutton is released.
b. The piston is to extend when
a pushbutton is pressed and
return automatically to its
start position after reading
the full extension.
Exercise 3: Cleaning Bath
Problem:
A container of washer is to be dipped in
and out of the cleaning bath. The START

to be achieved by actuating a pushbutton
each.
On actuating the stop pushbutton, the
container should also stop at the top. By
switching off the main valve, the container
should not fall into the bath with an
impact.
Exercise 4: Transfer Magazine
Problem
A cylinder is used to transfer parts from a magazine. If either a pushbutton
or a foot pedal is operated, the cylinder has to extend. Once the cylinder is
fully extended, it is to retract to the initial position. A 3/2 way roller lever
valve is to detect the full extension of the cylinder.
Exercise 5: Transfer Station
Problem
A transfer station removes a product
from a conveyor belt. If the product
is detected as present and if the
operator presses the pushbutton,
the pick up cylinder extends. A 3/2-
way roller level valve senses the
product. Upon the release of the
pushbutton, the cylinder is to retract
to the initial position.
Exercise 6: Distribution of Billiard Balls
The balls from the gravity magazine are to be
distributed alternately in receiver 1 and 2. The signal for
the advance stroke is to be provided either from push
button or from a foot pedal valve. The return stroke is
only to be effected after the piston has reached its
forward end. The forward and return strokes are to be
only effected if there are balls in the magazine.
Exercise 7: Control o
