Stepping Back~
Hunger, Helpers & Hurricane
“Someone gave me a Bible and I have tried reading it but
there is a lot I don’t understand. Do you think you could
help me?” questioned the waiter at our favorite taco
place. Since this conversation, Phil has had the oppor-
tunity of meeting with “M” and studying the Bible al-
most weekly. He is very hungry to know more about the
Word and always comes with many questions. Please
pray as Phil continues to study with him, that he will
understand clearly and choose to follow Christ.
In August, we were greatly blessed by a ministry team
from our supporting church FCC of El Centro, CA. These
wonderful helpers handled meal preparations, planned
and led the youth program and assisted with childcare
during our field’s annual conference. The conference is
an important time to report on what the Lord has been
doing in the various ministry areas in Mexico. We also
planned for the future and were encouraged in the Word.
One critical item discussed was finalizing our field’s vi-
sion statement. The vision statement is vital because it
helps us maintain our focus on what we have prayed
about and feel the Lord has led us to do here in Mexico.
Our vision statement: TEAM Mexico glorifies God by
making disciples who form society changing, multiply-
ing churches with godly, biblical leadership. We appre-
ciate your prayers as we seek to make this vision a real-
ity in all of Mexico. For many years, TEAM has had a
presence solely on the Baja peninsula. A few years, a
team began ministering on the mainland in Guadalajara.
This is a large city where there is a great need. It is an
exciting time to see the Lord moving and bringing more
people who are interested in reaching other regions of
Mexico. Lord willing, there will be a survey
