For the first application for an Owner’s Licence –
Legal Person, you must include:
• a copy of the constitutive act of the legal person, and, there-
after a declaration of modification when the constitutive act
The person who applies for a licence or the owner of a licence
must quickly advise the Régie of all and any changes liable to
modify the documents or information provided to the Régie.
■ Who must own a horse owner’s
licence – legal person?
An owner must own a Horse Owner’s Licence and have
paid the required fees according to Article 5 of the Regulation
respecting Standardbred horse racing. In the case where the
owner is a legal person, the following persons must also own
an Owner’s Licence:
1° A legal person with 10 shareholders or less
All administrators and shareholders of the legal person.
2° A legal person having from 11 to 50 shareholders
All administrators and shareholders that have the effec-
tive ownership or the control of shares providing them with
20% or more of the voting rights.
3° A legal person having 51 or more shareholders or
that is registered with a Canadian Stock Exchange
All administrators and members of the Executive Commit-
tee, all persons acting as President, Secretary or similar
functions, the person responsible with the Legal Person
for activities for which a licence is required and all share-
holders that have the effective ownership or the control of
shares providing them with 10% or more of the voting
4° A general or anonymous partnership
