COMMANDER'S POLICY MEMORANDUM #7
SUBJECT: Drug Free Workplace
1. Achieving a drug-free America is one of our Nation's highest priorities. The Federal
government, as the Nation's largest employer, is concerned with the serious adverse effect drug
abuse may have in the workplace. As the Commander of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, I
share this concern.
2. I am committed to the well-being of our employees, the successful accomplishment of our
mission, responsiveness to our customers, and the fulfillment of our responsibilities to the public
we serve. Therefore, it is the policy of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers that the use of illegal
drugs will not be tolerated.
3. The Corps has implemented this policy in accordance with Executive Order 12564, Drug-Free
Federal Workplace, and applicable laws, rules, and regulations. It is the responsibility of every
commander, manager, supervisor, and employee to join together and embrace the concept of a
drug-free workplace and to create and maintain a drug-free work environment.
