Potential Health Effects
Eyes: Irritating to eyes.
Skin: Irritating to skin. Prolonged skin contact may defat the skin and produce dermatitis.
Ingestion: Aspiration may cause pulmonary oedema and pneumonitis. nausea.
Inhalation: Inhalation of high vapour concentrations may cause nasal & respiratory irritation and symptoms like headache, dizziness, tiredness, nausea,
vomiting and possible unconsciousness.
Chronic Exposure: Prolonged exposure may cause chronic effects such as. Liver disorders. Kidney disorders. Lung damage. cardiac irregularities. Repeated
and prolonged exposure to solvents may cause brain and nervous system damage. May cause disorder and damage to the spleen. In chronic inhalation tests
with rats and mice, Trichloroethylene caused an increased incidence of tumours of a type which is routinely observed in these species.
