11.03.2009 – CARBON MEDIA IN CHINA TO PROMOTE INDIGENOUS CHILDREN’S
TELEVISION
The faces of Indigenous Queensland children are heading to China, by way of the
Carbon’s Indigenous kids television game show Letterbox.
Carbon Media is part of an official Australian delegation to the 2009 Sichuan TV
Festival in China from 6-8 November.
Carbon Media managing director Wayne Denning will showcase the Brisbane
produced children’s television series Letterbox as well as other Indigenous content,
including Black Shadows. Black Shadows is a TV series examining myths and
legends from Indigenous Australia.
Mr Denning said the trip offers invaluable opportunities for documentary and content
creators to network and do business.
China’s International TV Program Market is one of the biggest exporter and
importers of TV, film, entertainment, documentary and other programs in Asia.
“Carbon is very proud to be part of this delegation and to be presenting television
series that show off Australia’s Indigenous culture.”
The official delegation is being arranged jointly with Screen Australia, the Screen
Producers Association of Australia and the Australian International Documentary
Conference.
Carbon is also in New Zealand for the Korea Australia New Zealand Broadband and
Digital Futures Summit. Carbon’s Mikael Wedemeyer and Rachel Borm are in
Auckland to discuss the latest research and commercial developments in digital
