SCHOOL COUNCIL UPDATE
Goals: past, present and future. This month
Chandler School Council is reviewing the actions
we took this year to implement the School
Improvement Plan’s goals. Look for our
presentation to the School Committee at their May
6
th
meeting.
Also, at our April meetings we are writing our
goals, objectives and activities for 2009-2010.
There are four categories in the Chandler
Improvement Plan:
•
increased student achievement
• better utilization of facilities
• effective communication and overall
improvement in school climate and culture
• promoting student nutrition
Input from all Chandler families is welcomed.
Please make suggestions via the “Ask the
Council” suggestion box in the office or email a
Council Member or co-chair, Mary Lou Buell
(mlbuell@comcast.net). Our next meeting is
April 27
th
at 4pm in room 303.
On Thursday, April 30, 2009 at 2:30 p.m.,
all first grade classes will participate in a
brief Arbor Day Celebration. You are
welcome to join us at the front entrance of
Chandler School – weather permitting.
HIGH-END LEARNER PILOT:
PARENT SUVEY
Parents of current grade 1-4 students, who feel
their child may demonstrate the characteristics
associated with a high-end learner, should take
this survey.
By completing the survey, parents will have the
opportunity to answer questions regarding the
characteristics associated with high-end learners
and the appropriateness of their child in a high-
end learner cluster.
