AirFence Rental, Advertising, and Contributions
The AirFence Fund was established in 2006 by the American Federation of Motorcyclists
(AFM) to raise funds needed to purchase, store, and deploy Airfence Bike Modules at
Infineon Raceway. It is our goal to have Airfence Bike deployed at all AFM race events
and, through rentals, at motorcycle trackdays and practice days.
The initial fundraising period will last until $80,000 is raised, or until such time as
decided by the AFM North Chapter Board of Directors. This amount will allow the
purchase of approximately 600’ of AirFence Bike and a transport trailer.
After the initial fundraising period, additional funds will be required to store, deploy, and
maintain the modules. Such funds may come from ongoing fundraising efforts, a
surcharge on the AFM members, and/or other methods.
Other organizations can support these efforts by renting the AirFence, by purchasing
advertising space, and/or by direct contributions. Each of these is described below.
Section 1: AirFence Modules Rental
The AFM intends to make the AirFence Modules available for rental to other motorcycle
users of Infineon Raceway. For trackday providers who have an established business
relationship with Infineon Raceway, an initial rental rate of $500 will be required
regardless of whether or not the full amount of AirFence is deployed. Special note for
2007: First-time rental will be offered at a 50% discount of $250.
Companies who are not in business as trackday providers, but who wish to rent the
AirFence for motorcycle events, may do so at rates to be negotiated prior to the rental.
These could include, but are not limited to, corporate events, manufacturer practice days,
or professional races.
The rental rate will cover one setup and one teardown of the modules, and includes
normal wear and tear but not damage by impact or neglect. Rental will be arranged
through Infineon Raceway. That is, Infineon Raceway will include the rental fee as par
