to exchange large and crucial files
among its offices and its partners in
the oil-exploration business.
The Problem
• Sending files on CD by courier was
very slow—especially in some areas
of Africa, where couriers made
deliveries only once a week.
• The company’s FTP system was
difficult for many employees and
partners to use and took time to
administer by IT teams
• E-mail attachments were eating up
storage space and bandwidth in the
company’s IT network.

large files containing maps, oil-well data,
CAD drawings, images, graphics, and

provides Tullow with a much faster, less
complex, and easier-to-use method of
sending and receiving files than couriers
or FTP allowed. Furthermore, the
company’s transmitted files are equally
secure, whether transferred internally
or to third parties. Burdens on Tullow’s
e-mail infrastructure have been relieved
while visibility of file delivery has been
heightened.
