Calling All Troops— Send Us Your News
We invite all troops to send us news about
your great program events, community service,
travel, innovative ideas and other Girl Scouting
adventures. We will publish troop news as
space permits. Send your news stories and high
resolution photos including the names of those
pictured to the Brand Department at brand@
gswny.org Photos and news items can be mailed to Melanie Phillips at Girl Scouts of
Western New York, 1020 John Street, West Henrietta, NY 14586. Photos cannot be
returned unless they are accompanied by a self-addressed, stamped envelope.
Girl Scout Troop 1080 of the Sar-del Service Unit had an exciting trip to
Savannah, Georgia where they visited the birthplace of Juliette Gordon Low.

GSWNY Great Older Girl Program
It’s Camping! It’s Competition! It’s Skills & Chills at Zoar Valley! In October
hundreds of older girls will come together for one fabulous fall weekend of camp-
ing and outdoor skill competitions in beautiful Western New York. Bring your
own team of four or join one on site and get ready to do your best.
This event for Cadettes, Seniors and Ambassadors will be held October 3–5
at Zoar Valley Camp. Girls, leaders and registered adults are $24 per person.
The fee includes a Friday snack, Saturday breakfast, lunch, supper, snack,
Sunday breakfast and a Skills & Chills souvenir.
Bring:
• Permission slips and individual health forms for each girl and adult attending
• Personal gear
• Two (2) rolls of toilet paper to be used in your unit
• Your own mug
• Troop fi rst aid kit
• 5”x8’’ (or larger) cloth tag with troop/group number, two tags each per girl,
leader or other adult attending the weekend. Troop/group number must be
clearly visible on front and back.
• Troop fl ag or banner for opening ceremony on Saturday (optional)
