I am writing to inform you of 4 upcoming SALDF events that will wrap up the
year for us!
First, SALDF is visiting Maple Farm Animal Sanctuary THIS SUNDAY. We will
arrange drivers, and will be leaving from campus at 11:00 am. We should be back
no later than 2:30 pm. Please RSVP to this email or to firstname.lastname@example.org if
you would like to join us! We ask that each interested person bring a small
contribution for the sanctuary ($3-$5). They are a tiny, dedicated group
undertaking a big (and important) project, and they can use all the help they can
get! SALDF will provide fruits and veggies to feed the animals. Take a break
from school and get out in the nice weather (it's supposed to be near 70 degrees
The people who I have heard from are: Marissa and Rob, Rita, LT (and Vinnny?),
Jason, Taki, Sharon, Victoria, and Erin. (If one of you has to cancel, please let me
know so I can arrange for the proper amount of car space).
Second, this Friday night from 7-9 pm in Harvard Square, there will be a Veg
Outreach demonstration, and showing of "Meat Your Meat." This event is NOT
sponsored by SALDF but may be of some interest to our members. Please contact
email@example.com with questions and RSVP's.
Third, the Harvard Review of Philosophy is hosting a panel discussion called
"Facing Animals" next Tuesday night (April 24) at 7:00 pm in Sever 113 (in
Harvard Yard). Martha Nussbaum, Cass Sunstein, Patricia Herzog, and Christine
Korsgaard will be speaking about animals in ethics and the law. Please contact
Eric Linsker at firstname.lastname@example.org for more details. This is going to be a
great event and we hope to see many of you there! Stay tuned for information
about a second panel in the same series with Harvard Animal Law Professor Paul
Waldau and others!
Finally, the SALDF board would like to host a dinner to thank and say good-bye
to this year's President, Rita Lomio.
