Over the past few weeks a
great deal of emphasis has
been given to Race To The
Top education legislation.
This legislation proposes
to place Glencliff High
School
and 12
other
schools statewide under
the control of what is be-
ing called The Achieve-
ment School District. For-
tunately, MNPS adminis-
trators and state depart-
ment of education officials
have looked at our school
and our performance data
in detail. As a result, we
have been given the op-
portunity to provide an
alternative
governance
model that allows us to
continue the use of inno-
vative programs to im-
prove the academic per-
formance of our students.
