I hope you were here for the opening party. We
had the best ever opening, 275 rounds of golf
played, and 320 members for a wonderful eve-
ning party. Bermuda Dunes is alive and well
and off to a great start for the new season. It was
nice to have 8 or 9 new members attend and be
introduced by Jeff Davis our membership chair-
man. Many thanks to the Dayton’s and Israel’s
who chaired the event and made is such a success.
The Trial Membership is a wonderful way to attract new members
to Bermuda Dunes. They are paying full dues but cannot vote un-
til they take the Equity Membership. With the upcoming vote in
January 2008 for the clubhouse improvements they can see what’s
planned before they become regular members.
We are going to miss the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic be played
on our course this season but we are involved. There are 17 of our
members playing in the tournament and we have a number of mem-
bers that are volunteer workers. We will host two dinner parties for
the tournament, a Pro and wives Celeb dinner on Wednesday
January 16th and the Marshal Recognition Party on the 22nd. They
do like our food and will be back to our course in 2009.
The Board of Directors at its November 19th meeting selected the
Nominating Committee. You will be getting mailings on this but
it’s time to make your interest known to the committee members if
you may want to run for the Board. The offi ce is still mailing things
out but the use of e-mail saves us money and gets the information
out quicker. Please stop by the offi ce if you have problems with
the mailings or e-mail. When you see Cortina and a charge on your
monthly statement that’s the name of our golf cart repair company
and the amount of the repairs done.
Looking forward to seeing you on the golf course or at a social
event. This is your club to use and enjoy. Please try to meet and
introduce yourself to our new members.
Howard L. Hubbard, President
Board of Directors
