Whether you are running your business from a small, cluttered office or have desks spreading out as far as the eye can see, effective management of
your office equipment could reduce consumption by up to 70 per cent. Here's how:
* Leaving lights on unnecessarily doesn't benefit anyone apart from your energy provider, so ask yourself: â€˜Do I really need it?'
* Put up signs to remind staff to turn lights off when leaving meeting rooms
* Install sensor lights that turn themselves off, they are a great way to make sure the lights go out when staff have gone home
Lowering room temperatures by just 1oC can reduce your annual heating bill by 8-10 percent* so make sure the heating isn't set unnecessarily high.
Computers & Monitors...
A PC monitor left on overnight or over the weekend may seem harmless but if it's happening consistently, then it's costing you money unnecessarily.
Don't forget; a screen saver doesn't save energy so consider introducing a â€˜switch off' policy.
