Dear Early Childhood Educator,
It is my pleasure to announce the opportunity to participate in Early Childhood Feasibility Workshops,
convened by the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards in partnership with the Council for
Professional Recognition. You were nominated through your work and noted expertise in the field of
early childhood education.
We are currently recruiting subject matter experts (SMEs) to participate in a study to determine the
competency requirements of Early Childhood Education (ECE) lead teachers. Participation includes
attending one or two virtual workshops to help define the ECE lead teacher role and identify the
knowledge, skills, and abilities that ECE lead teachers need to have. These workshops will require
participants to share input and engage in discussion with other ECE lead teachers.
If you work as an ECE lead teacher and are interested in applying to be a SME for this study, please fill
out the application survey, linked below. The National Board will use the survey information to select
participants for both workshops. The first workshop will take place in late-January and will require 16
hours of participation, across several days. The second workshop will take place in mid-April and will
require 5 hours of participation. In the application survey, we ask for your availability for both
workshops. You may be selected to attend one, both, or neither. Your information will remain
confidential and not be shared in any other way. Selected participants will receive a stipend.
The deadline for completing the survey to indicate your interest is January 10. The survey can be
accessed here https://survey.clicktools.com/app/survey/go.jsp?iv=prn9md3ymc7g. Thank you for your
