Levin & Perconti Files a Personal Injury Lawsuit for Injuries Sustained
in an Automobile Accident in Des Plaines, Illinois
Chicago, IL – Levin & Perconti has filed a personal injury lawsuit on behalf of Melinda
Tomzik against a Chicago-area driver for the personal injuries she sustained in an
automobile accident. The suit was filed on July 9, 2008.
Ms. Tomzik, a nurse, stopped her vehicle at a red light on southbound Bender Street in
Des Plaines, Illinois on the way home from work. The defendant, Mr. Kim, ran in to the
back of her car. Ms. Tomzik sustained bodily injuries and whiplash to her neck when she
was thrown around at impact. The accident has caused her continued pain and suffering
and has required her to seek continued medical treatment for her injuries. Ms. Tomzik
continues to have a decrease in the use of her neck, pain, and must still receive physical
therapy to improve her healing.
Jeffrey Martin, a partner at Levin & Perconti, filed the case. According to Martin, “a
case like this shows how inattentive drivers lead to more than just fender benders, they
lead to actual head and neck injuries. Melinda’s injuries were so easily avoidable had the
other driver simply paid attention as he approached her car at the intersection.”
